The Florida Marlins routed the Boston Red Sox 15-7 behind seven runs batted in by Mike Stanton. Losing pitcher Clay Buchholz left after four innings and 11 runs allowed, six of them earned. Javier Vazquez got the win for the Marlins despite allowing six runs, all of which earned in four innings. Stanton went 3-4 with two home runs for Florida, with John Buck and Logan Morrison also going deep.
