The Florida Marlins routed the Boston Red Sox 15-7 behind seven runs batted in by Mike Stanton. Losing pitcher Clay Buchholz left after four innings and 11 runs allowed, six of them earned. Javier Vazquez got the win for the Marlins despite allowing six runs, all of which earned in four innings. Stanton went 3-4 with two home runs for Florida, with John Buck and Logan Morrison also going deep.

FC Barcelona took a large step towards securing their second consecutive La Liga crown with a 2-0 victory over Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu Saturday night. The win takes them three points clear at the top of the table with seven matches remaining. They also possess the tiebreaker, having won both head-to-head matches.
